The event will now happen from November 2nd to 4th, 2022, at the same venue (Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai). The 3 days international concurrent Conference on “Advances in Heat Treatment” will have sessions on Equipment, Process improvement, Emerging technologies and Innovations and case studies. The HTS conference will focus on advances in the area of heat treatment with specific topics like NADCAP certification, Industry 4.0, Process Modelling, Optimisation & Control and case studies with specific reference to different industry sectors – transport, power, defence, etc.

The schedule will cover not the entire days but only a few hours in the Chinese late afternoon, so that participants can follow the talks also from Europe (early afternoon) and America (early morning). Live discussions will be held via the internet platform. The attendance will be free! The event is organized by our Chinese member association CHTA. It was originally planned to be held in October 2020 in Hangzhou, China, and had to be postponed and changed in format due to the pandemic. Yoshinao Mishima (Born 1949, in Tokyo, Japan) graduated and obtained his Ph.D. degree (in 1979) at University of California, Berkeley in USA and Doctor of Engineering degree (in 1983) at Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. He has written numerous papers on improving the mechanical properties of heat-resistant metal materials by microstructure control. He got several awards from the American Society for Metals, The Japan Institute of Metals and Materials, The Iron and Steel Institute of Japan, and Japan Society for Heat Treatment. He was the president of Tokyo Institute of Technology and he is now an emeritus professor. He is currently the president of the Japan Society for Heat Treatment, and in 2006 and 2007 he was also the president of IFHTSE. He planned and served as organizing committee chairman for the Asian HTSE Conference (Matsue, Japan) in 2001 and the 17th IFHTSE Congress (Kobe, Japan) in 2008. He has contributed to the development of heat treatment technology in Japan and the advancement of IFHTSE.

The 2nd International Conference on Quenching and Distortion Engineering (QDE 2021 and ECHT 2021) will take place online due to the pandemic.The registration template is found on the homepage: www.echt-qde-2021.de.

"ASM remains firmly committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our members, customers, partners and staff who are attending our events. We now turn our attention to IMAT 2021, scheduled for September 13-16, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri," they write.
